The early years of high school, grades seven (7) and eight (8), can often be difficult for both students and parents. Our faculty and staff endeavour to exercise love, patience and understanding while guiding students to embrace ownership for their education.
Junior High students are offered classes in Christian Education, English Language, Literature, Mathematics, General Science, Health Science, Social Studies, Family and Consumer Sciences (Food & Nutrition, Needlework), Spanish, IT (Computer Studies), Technical Drawing, Art & Craft, Music and Physical Education.
Students take the BJC (Bahamas Junior Certificate) Examinations and the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test).
The Senior High years are filled with excitement, anticipation and activity. Classes are offered to help students to face major external examinations and to prepare them to meet the demands of college education.
We offer classes in Christian Education, English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, French, Spanish, Food & Nutrition, Clothing Construction, Art, Music, Physical Education, Graphical Communication, Bookkeeping & Accounts, History, Information Technology, Economics, Commerce and Carpentry & Joinery.
Sporting programs at Kingsway Academy offer a multitude of benefits that extend beyond the playing field. Not only do our programs foster physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, but they also allow students to cultivate essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline. Participation in our sporting programs helps high school students to build a strong sense of community and school spirit.
Club Rush provides the opportunity for students to get involved in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities: Teens for Christ, GGYA (Governor General Youth Award), Earth Watch, Tennis, Choir, Band, Dance, Yearbook, Debate, Drama, and JA (Junior Achievement). Students may also participate in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Softball and Track & Field. Students are active in the weekly chapels on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as high school principal of Kingsway Academy where, despite the prevailing decline in societal morals, we remain steadfast in our mission to train the children entrusted to our care in the King’s way. Our governing principles are securely established on the firm foundation of God’s Holy Word.
While we pride ourselves in our commitment to academic excellence, our collective focus is on the holistic development of our students, as we strive to prepare them to not only survive, but to thrive nationally as well as globally.
Our dedicated team of Christian educators and administrators are professionally trained and work collaboratively to uphold the standard of integrity that our parents, guardians, students and community stakeholders deserve and have come to expect from our fine institution. Our level of service is mandated by Titus 2:7, “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity and sincerity”.
At Kingsway Academy our curriculum is formulated, taught and closely monitored to ensure that our junior high students in grades seven through nine are satisfactorily prepared for success in the Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC) examinations. Likewise, our senior high school students of grades ten through twelve are amply provided with the educational support and resources to achieve success in the Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Examination (BGCSE). Students are not selectively chosen; all of them are afforded the opportunity to sit BJCs and BGCSE’s, with some students even sitting them a year earlier.
It is my unequivocal belief that at Kingsway Academy we provide a safe, nurturing, character-building environment in which our students can develop as unique individuals into the masterpieces that God has pre-ordained each of them to become.
