CAMPUS LIFE
The Elementary School facilities include spacious classrooms for K3-Grade 6 as well as a Computer Lab, Spanish, Music, and Art Rooms, Library and Physical Education fields and court.
School Hours
Students will be permitted in the classroom at 7:50 AM with classes officially beginning at 8:15 AM. K3-K5 dismisses at 2:30 PM and Grades 1-6 dismisses at 2:45 PM, Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, school dismisses at 2:00 PM. Students are to be picked up shortly after dismissal daily unless he/she is involved in extra- curricular activities.
After Care
Students remaining more than 30 minutes after school will be placed in after care for a daily fee. Required fee is to be paid upon pick up.
Lunch Program
The Saints’ Cafe offers students a wide variety of hot breakfast items, snacks, and lunch meals on a daily basis. The lunch menu is provided each week.
Medical Office
Our school is outfitted with a registered nurse who is on campus during school hours and well equipped to service the entire school with all health needs.
Discipline
For every choice a student makes there is a consequence. Our goal is to move students toward a keener sense of self-awareness and consistent practice of self-discipline. It is expected that students and parents, despite their personal opinions and convictions, upon joining the Saint Family, agree to adhere to the rules and code of conduct presented in the Student and Parent Handbook.
Merits are the rewarded form of discipline. It encourages the development of student talent, to create a healthy spirit of competition, to promote school spirit, and to reward those who excel in various fields.
Demerits are assigned for infractions of school rules. These are given by the school administration.
GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT
While Kingsway Academy excels in training students academically, we believe that a child is more than his or her grades. Much care is taken to address the needs of the whole child–academically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
Throughout the school year, our Elementary Guidance Counselor leads every class through a detailed and practical character development program. Virtues such as obedience, respect, diligence, kindness, thankfulness, integrity, and service are taught in Guidance Class; and Character Awards are given out monthly to reward students who exemplify these virtues in their day-to-day living. The students enjoy this program, as it gives positive reinforcement for doing right and creates a culture of good character among the students.
To encourage good parent-student relationships, the Guidance Department organizes Happy Meal Day which allows parents to bring their child’s favorite lunch on campus and share it with them. Students in the upper grades also have a full day dedicated to focus on sensitive topics and have guest speakers present inspiring and motivational messages on their grade level.
The Elementary Guidance Counselor also works individually with students who are struggling or needing extra care and attention. This individual attention keeps children from falling through the cracks and stir them back on track when infractions are made. Students are invited to ask for help; teachers and parents also may contact the Guidance Counselor for assistance at any time.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS
Kingsway Academy Elementary offers an array of extracurricular activities for students to enjoy! After-school clubs are a highlight of the year for many and are offered to children of all ages. From cooking to reading, singing, learning sign language, and computer coding, these clubs nurture and develop the varied interests of our entire student body! We are also pleased to host chapters of international clubs, such as K-Kids (Kiwanis), Red Cross, and Sunflowers. These clubs involve their members in community service projects and give opportunities for the students to give back.
The Kingsway Melodies, our elementary choir, rehearse after school weekly. The choir members are trained in vocal techniques and taught a variety of spiritual and folk songs. They are given multiple opportunities to sing for school assemblies and programs throughout the school year. Other clubs such as Karate, Drama, Saints News, conversational Creole, and Academic subjects extend the school day in an exciting and informative way.
After school is also the perfect time for students to hone their skills on the basketball court, volleyball court, soccer field, track, or golfing. Students are trained by seasoned coaches who have an understanding of the sport and a heart for each player. Our elementary teams have opportunities to compete against other schools throughout the school year–many times, they bring home the rewards and trophies.

UNIFORMS
Students are encouraged to take pride in their physical appearance as they proudly represent the Academy. Information concerning uniforms can be located in the Student and Parent Handbook.
Students are placed in different houses to help encourage good sportsmanship while developing a healthy competitive attitude. Our houses are Caleb (blue), David (purple), Gideon (red) and Joshua (yellow).
